This photo was taken for the composition assignment. What I like about this photo is that all of the chairs and their shadows line up and lead your eye to the back of the photo. My point of view was slightly above the chairs and towards the middle of the row and i pointed the camera straight ahead to show the curve in the formation of the chairs. The photo Follows the rule of thirds because the majority of the picture is in either the left third or right third of the photo. The depth of field is very large depth of field. The ISO was set to 1600 and the White Balance was fluorescent.
This photo was taken for the subject matter assignment . What I like about this photo is that the subject is in focus while the background is a blur. My point of view was to the side of the subject on the curb. The photo Follows the rule of thirds because the main focus in the picture is in the top two thirds of the photo and centered. The depth of field is a shallow depth of field The ISO was set to 800 and the White Balance was direct sunlight.
I selected this photo because i thought that it was one of my best photos from the drawing with light assignment. The other thing that I like about this photo is that i took it on a very slow shutter speed. Compositionally, there is many flaws with this photo like how it doesn't follow the rule of thirds and about how the picture seems slightly blurry because when i took the picture i didn't use the grid and the subjects movements with the light would have been unpredictable. Because of the slow shutter speed that i used, some parts of the picture are blurry. Also there is great contrast between the black/dark background and the bright white and red lights.
I selected this photo because it was my favorite photo and i personally think that it is one of my best photos. Compositionally, the photo follows the rule of thirds. The photo is an example of a shallow depth of field. The photo has blur because of the f-stuo that i had the camera set to. The white balance on the camera was set to florescent and the iso was 800. My point of view while i was taking the photo was eye level with the board game and focused on the corner of the game box closest to the camera. The shutterspeed on the camera for this photo was at a normal speed for a picture.
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is the element of line and shape because when i look at this photo the first thing i see is leading lines from the trees that are at the bottom left hand section of the photo and i feel like it slowly dirrects my eye up the mountain. There is also double exposure because when i editted this photo i just overlayed devins face on top of the mountain landscape and i decreased the opacity of devins face so that i could get that ghostly image of devin overlooking the mountain. I also had to crop the picture of devin so that it was only his head that appeared in the photo and then i had to enlarge the picture of his head to fit the entire landscape. The camera was set to a white balance of incandescent and the iso was over about 1200. This photo was my favorite from the double exposure assignment because it was the only one i did.
This photo was taken for the portrait assignment it is my favorite because it is the only one that did not come out blurry. What I like about this photo is that it did not come out blurry and because i had some great shadows on the subject when i took the photo. My point of view was dirrectly in front of the subject with the subject angled towards the light source. The photo doesn't Follow the rule of thirds. The depth of field was a very large depth of field. The ISO was set to 1400 and the White Balance was incandescent. While editing this photo i needed to crop out part of the background and use the tool for removing unwanted objects to get rid of peoples legs and an unwanted sliver of light in the background.
